To the delight of all cinema fans, the Munich Film Festival is back in full swing this year. Look forward to an engaging yet entertaining line-up, with films that tell their haunting stories with summery ease.
The extensive programme of national and international highlights at this year's FILMFEST MÜNCHEN from 23 June to 1 July 2023 is a source of anticipation not only for cineastes.
The festival includes various competitions, from documentaries about famous musicians to new works by the stars, news from German cinema as well as news from German television and the children's film festival. 120 films from 52 countries will be shown this year, 35 of them world premieres.
Topics such as 'Father-Daughter Relationships Portrayed on Film', 'Behind the Scenes' and Children's Film Lectures or Teacher's Day are events of the 40th edition of Filmfest München. The strong presence of female directors who tell stories from a female perspective is worth noting.
The venues are the Amerikahaus, the ASTOR Filmlounge at ARRI, the City-Atelier cinemas, the Gloria Palast, the HFF Munich, the Rio Filmpalast and the Sendlinger Tor. For balmy summer evenings, the open-air cinema in the Westpark is Kino, Mond & Sterne.
Ticket sales are expected to start in mid-June.
